Life, The Universe, and Everything...

The not so nitty gritty details of my life.

Just when I thought things were starting to go smoothly, Finals come around. So I studied my ass off for chem 2, and still fell 5 percentage points short of my goal...looks like i'm retaking it this summer, damn. Then came Thermo. Not necessarily difficult material on it, just not nearly enough time to sort through it all. Its not a good sign, when in a semi-advanced engineering course, where people get 100s on tests and homework on a regular basis, do you see only one person finish the exam before the time limit was up. Not just that, but many of the people who get the highest grades in class didn't finish at all. The instructor actually said to write what we would have done were we able to finish a problem and we would probably get better credit than if we just left it blank. I kinda felt a little guilty going into the exam because i went out to play baseball for a few hours last night, but after studying with some friends before the exam, i realized that i was on more or less the same level as they were going into it, and they studied a lot more than me, which made me feel good. what also made me feel good was that when we got out of it, a few of them had actually finished fewer problems than i had. Unfortunately i didn't have the highest average from the first few tests, and will likely get a grade slightly lower than i had initially planned. I am hoping that everyone did poorly on the final, and the average grades for the class are not based on the solid 10 points per letter scale. if thats the case, then i still have a prayer. Tomorrow morning is my last final. I fear that it will also work out similar to the thermo test, in that it will require much more time to complete than we have assigned. During the previous exam in this class, I was the second person to complete it, and it only took me 3 hours and 45 mins, a few people were there for 7 hours. I don't know if i could have handled that. Well its back to studying for that, and maybe aching a little from throwing a baseball when i was out of shape.
